Watch Dogs crash error fix

some gamers have complained about Watch dogs that this game keeps crashing even after having a high end pc.
Here are some possible solution. Remember, all of the given solutions have already been tried in different situations and they are a 'working' solution depends on your pc. Run the game after every fix applied. Read all of them carefully and apply one by one. Stop trying next if your game starts working without any lag or crash.
1- Reinstall the game but this time don't choose Program files(x64) directory but the simple 'Program files' location. Old trick that works.
2-Reinstall the game, repair net framework 4.5, for AMD user redownload catalist 14.4 or higher, reinstall direct x 11. Now you should get an improved FPS without any crash.
3-check my 'ubisoft game launcher' error fix post and apply it. Set afterburner's osd not to detect the game.
4-Try to run the program in compatibility mode of Vista sp1, 2 or Windows 7.
5-If you have installed Hamachi or other virtual VPN installed on your pc, just uninstall it.
6-If you have more than one lan adapter, please disable any extra ones.
7-If you have a high-end PC and want to avoid any graphics and performance issues before Ubisoft fixes the game, you should run game while AA turned Off, GPU Rendering Set to 1 and Vsync Turned Off.
Moreover, using Nvidia Control Panel, you should enable FXAA, set Anisotropic Filtering to 16X, enable AA Mode Override, set AA Settings to 32XCSAA, set AA Transparency to 8X, Set Max Pre-Rendered Frame to 1 (Optional), set Multi Display to 1, select Prefer Maximum Performance and turn off Texture Filtering.
Make sure you have Clamp and Threaded Optimization On. Test turning on/off Vsync to see what reduces stuttering and based on that, set it. AMD Graphics users can replicate similar settings in Catalyst Control Panel.
8-If for some reason Watch Dogs crashes to desktop after launch or after Ubisoft logo screen, you should disable Uplay Overlay in Uplay Settings. If you have Dxtory installed, turn it off.
9-f you experience audio issues after successfully launching the game, set your sound to ‘Stereo’.
You can set default Windows Sound to Stereo by going in Playback Devices by clicking on the Sound Icon. Click Configure on the Window that opens, and you should see the option to set the sound to Stereo.

a few more tricks
1. copy all files from the bin folder in watch dogs (usually here:C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Watch_Dogs\bin)
into the watch_dogs folder.

2. delete the files from the bin folder (not the folder itself)

3. start uplay

4. when uplay is running, start the watch_dogs.exe directly from the watch_dogs folder.

!!!important!!! if you hit "play" in uplay the game wont start!! see step 4!
------------------
If you disable the crossfire if it works, but with crossfire enabled game will not start.
---------------------------
Disable SLI in your nvidia control panel
---------------------------
Run the game as administrator and check on 'disable display scaling on high dpi settings'
------------------------
uninstall then reinstall your graphic drivers. if it still causes problems go to C:\Users\*yourusername*\Documents\My Games\Watch_Dogs and delete this folder.
------------------------
Close all other applications which are running on the background.
--------------------------
disconnect the internet and disable your antivirus.
--------------------

  1. Put the game folder (steamapps/common) and paste anywhere else on your hard drive and give it a different name.
  2. Delete the contents of the game from your Steam profile.
  3. Put the game folder back to its original destination and rename it to “Watch_Dogs” again.
  4. Re-install the game at Steam. After this additional 1.2 Gbytes will appear in the game folder --------------------------------
If you play on a laptop and you have  an AMD graphics card, then go to the Catalyst Control Center and select the Games tab. Disable the “AMD Radeon Dual Graphics” function.

Try fixing the configuration file in “Documents/My Games/Watch Dogs/”.
  • Open GamerProfile.xml file in notepad and find DeferredFxQuality=”console”.
  • Replace the “console” with “PC”.
-----------------------
Disable V-sync in graphics settings of the game.
