if you are fed up with the d3d above mentioned error while trying to run mortal kombat komplete edition from the desktop icon or exe icon of the game then follow these steps-
1- right click on the desktop icon of the game.
2- go to 'properties'.
3- go to 'compatibility' tab.
4- 'check' these two things-
a- disable desktop composition.
b- disable display scaling on high dpi settings.
DONE! now you may enjoy the game without any error.
